I saw a Shaeffer on eBay, and queried the seller as to the model. He replied that the only number on it is #330. Can anyone id the pen by that information? the eBay item number is 300112552533, and there is a picture of the pen (nice looking pen) but I would like to know more about it so I can bid intelligently. I haven't owned a Shaeffer FP since I was in junior high back in the 1960's, so I don't reallly know much about them, as that was just a cheap school pen. Thank you.

Hi that pen is a Sheaffer Triumph Imperial - It's more likely to be brushed chrome not brushed silver get the seller to confirm this before you bid. It will say on the pen if it is silver and will be marked- I don't know what the 330 the seller is referring to. The model number is 444 for this pen but these did change.

These pens are the last of the imperial series dates from early 80s to mid 90s. I'm not 100% sure on the years of production.

These are very good pens feature the classic inlaid nib. This nib on this pen looks like stainless steel not as valuable as the 14K gold version. But performance is much the same.

These are just cartridge/ converter fillers. Great for everyday use.

I would be prepared to spend around $20 for a triumph imperial like this one, but I have sold these my self as a set for much more.

These pens come up quite often so be prepared to let a few go until you get a good price. I should expect this should probably sell for less than $20 due to the poor description- so you could get a bargain!

These sold for £18 in 1991. Not sure what this would be in $ back in the 90s

I Hope this helps, happy hunting!

Thank you for your prompt response. Now I can bid like I know something. I will let you know how this one goes. I might take a liking to Shaeffers and get off my Parker bandwagon (currently have 4 jotters, 3 Vectors, 1 P 51 probably nearly as old as I am, 1 45 (another on the way via eBay) 1 Frontier, and somehow I have misplaced the 1 Reflex I had.) I also have some watermans, a couple of low-end Pelikans and a bunch of Chinese oddball pens (no copies or clones, just oddball, like a pair of duo point pens, and a couple others).

I have a 440 which is pretty similar, and mine has the same inlaid steel nib. It's one of the smoothest writing pens I own, it outperforms most of my pens that have gold nibs. These pens are amazing values!
