I just got my limited edition Ice Blue Vanishing Point.

As a lefty, I find this pen very hard to use. This medium nib does not "push" well at all. I have Waterman, Pelikan, Levenger and Lamy nibs that accept my lefty style without a problem. When I drag the pen with my right hand, I can see why so many people rave about the Vanishing Point, it does feel smooth and it is neat to have the retractable nib. I've tried rotating the nib away from me to simulate a drag stroke rather than a push, but the clip assembly complicates that maneuver and it only helps a little bit anyway. I'm just not sure this pen is going to work for me. I thought maybe I should get a broad nib to see if that helps. Any other lefties have this issue with the Vanishing Point?

You just described exactly what my situation was. I finally sold the thing...I hated doing it too because that was the first pen I scrimped and saved for.

Oh no! I'm a left and I'm saving for a VP... How do you hold your hand when you write? Under or over? That might have something to do with it...

I'm a lefty and I feel that it's no problem. I'm a overwriter that still uses my wrist instead of the sholder gridle thougth so that might be it. I put my thumb on the clip. Ignore the bad quality

Same here, although I'm a lefty overwriter who is using the shoulder to guide the pen. I find the VP nibs are excellent, and the medium is extremely smooth. The clip doesn't bother me too much, but I really wish they would make a clipless VP, or at least make it easy to remove it.

Thanks, caligatia, those were exactly my worries and thoughts, as a Decimo is on my "buy sooner than later" list. I'm an underwriter, so the pen is more pulled than pushed, but I do recall being frustrated with a VP seven years ago, when I was an overwriter.

I'm an underwriter. I mostly push, but don't put a lot of pressure on the pen point.

Hmmmm.

I'm an overwriter. I don't have this problem with any other pen. I wonder if it could be Binderized to work better for my style.
