Hi folks,

Several weeks ago, I posted a message soliciting help identifying a Sheaffer pencil that I wanted to purchase for my wife to replace a lost one that had been given to her as a high school graduation gift in 1985. The details and description provided by her were scant at best, but through the help of several forum members, we finally decided that it had been a TRZ model. Once identified, forum member "Univer" (Jon) sent me a link to a set that was being offered on eBay, that was in the correct color. I purchased that set, and am happy to say that my wife is thrilled to once again have her pencil, and as a bonus, the matching pen to go along with it!

Interestingly, the documentation that came with the set pictures a U.S. 22 cent postage stamp on the front, which dates the set (or at least the documentation) to a period between Febuary 17 1985, when the stamp was first issued, and April 3 1988, when it was replaced with the 25 cent stamp. Just a little side trivia. happyberet.gif

Thank you to all who assisted with this quest!

Hi Allen,

I'm so very pleased you won the set. I wondered about the auction outcome, but I didn't want to ask - just in case it ended badly.

It's really a wonderful feeling to find a replacement for a fondly-remembered treasure.

It's a lovely set. I hope you and your wife enjoy it!

Best,

Jon

I've was thinking about that pink TRZ a few days ago, and was wondering when/if you'd find a replacement....
