Howdy Pardners,

I'm just an old retired cowboy who's been using a fountain pen since 1953. Yes I even remember when the Jotter BP hit the market! Also done a bit of pen collecting, pen repair, pen selling, pen shows and Snail Mail (Pentrace). Way back I did a tour or two in the US Army, lived in Washington, DC for 11 years, had some interesting times, then went West for good and worked with some folks who built airplanes. I live a ways outside of FT Worth on a small ranch and I and the Italian Babe (my wife) raise and ride Peruvian Paso horses. Bubba is all grown up; Joe Bob Junior graduates from college in Taxachusettes next month, the rest of the kids are in Houston and Alaska. Just me and the Babe now plus 3 dogs, 6 llamas, 1 alpaca, 1 guanaco (looks like a llama except with a nasty attitude), 16 horses and a barn cat. I may be retired but I still collect a few pens, do the occasional repair, knock out a few stories, go to a few pen shows, write lots of Snails (Snails are letters, snails are things you eat) and ride my palomino mare La Paloma Blanca (shows, parades, exhibitions).

Keep your cinch tight and don't squat on your spurs buckaroos and buckarettes.

Adios,

Will

Hey Will,

It's great to find you here! Welcome!

Saw your snailing post the other day on PT, and loved it - you've inspired me to start up again. I'll be sending you one (hopefully) soon embarrassed_smile.gif

Welcome to FPN, Will!

As I was reading your intro, I recalled an 'ole cowboy' from a gun forum.

Doubt it is you, that poster discloses no personal info.

Just read your post on pentrace and sent the e-mail. Your description of life today IS MY LIFE TODAY. Though I do write to family and friends, it is usually bills in the box. Except for JBB here (beautiful writing) and another fp friend from Zoss.

Something exquisite about the anticipation of a hand written letter in the mail box. Brings back some very fond memories.

Thanks for joining and posting at Pentrace.

A fellow Texan here. I live in Dallas and was born and raised in Fort Worth.

Hey, Will. I'm originally from the Panhandle. Most of my people are now in the Shallowater/Lubbock and Dumas areas. I go home as I can for Luby's and some fried okra. Sounds like folks know you from another forum so I hope you'll jump right in and add to the fun and knowledge base. And, I hope you weren't poking fun at good ol' Southern names too much when you called your son Joe Bob, Jr because...yep, my father's name is Joe Bob. thumbup.gif Welcome - glad you signed up.
