Because you keep asking, here's a sneak peak at the new line of writing instruments I'll be debuting at the New England Pen Show.

The full line of Omas Inks are now available at the Pear Tree Pen Company as well. The site will be updated within a few days to add these items, so keep checking back, or send me an email if you're interested.

james,

omas sepia isnt listed as available for purchase-will it be?

also, have you started the ink samples up again yet?
James P
Hi Nick,

I placed a large order for the Omas Sepia ink, but it is back-ordered at the distributor, so it wasn't included in the shipment I just received. I'm sure it will be delivered as soon as it is available, along with the Omas Green, which is also on back-order.

The ink sample program is still on hold as I wrap up my practice. I'm also working with a couple of employees now to try to build up an inventory of ink samples, so they don't have to be prepared "to order." When all is said and done, the net result of that will be faster shipment of ink sample orders.

And, yes, that's the Emotica. tongue.gif

Although I don't have a whole lot of time on it yet, I filled one this morning and have written a few lines with it. The degree of flex in this nib is absolutely stunning - it is as flexy as many of my vintage nibs and the line variation in my unskilled hands is significant. Someone with some real talent could probably make this nib perform miracles!

So far, it's not as buttery smooth as a lot of the nibs I've used, and there is some tooth in the nib, but it's not unpleasant or scratchy. It's just that you can feel the paper while you write. Again, not an unpleasant or unsatisfying sensation at all, though.

But if I write any more, this will venture further off-topic for the marketplace, so I'll stop now.

Impressive how they managed to get it to stand on it's nib too eureka.gif

That's an interesting gimmick, but I'm curious... what's the purpose? (I almost said "point," but I thought I might get myself bludgeoned for that. biggrin.gif )

I thought nib-down was a bad way to store a pen, and unless the cap doesn't snap on at all it would also be impractical. Loosely-posted, nib-up, it would be prone to drying out, being knocked over, or accidentally impaling a hand. And I can't see a use for elevating the cap-end when the pen is mostly horizontal, unless one wants to see how long it would be before one accidentally squashes it flat.

Am I missing something?

You didn't hear the news? The people down at Omas learned how to defy gravity...
