Hello FPN'ers, I saw on an auction site some spare parts, and in there were 20 Carat Gold M800 nibs. I have not seen 20 Carat before, what years is this from or is this a fake? Cheers.
I've never heard of such a nib in standard production - it seems very unlikely. Perhaps it's the nib equivalent of the amplifier volume control that goes up to 11?

It does exist. According to Rick Propas it was made for the Asian market, IIRC.

That was a great scene in "Spinal Tap" . It's become a classic line in the world of electric guitars.
Makes me want to get see the movie again.

Just to confirm, it is my understanding that the 20 K nibs were made for the Asian market. I have a couple of these nibs.
Interestingly, my North American M900 (Toledo) box is marked to have a 20K nib, but crossed out.

Apparently it's the belief that more gold is better. Think of Sailor and the 21 K nibs.
