I've owned or own many different fountain pens and decided from those I've owned so far, my favorite size pen (in terms of length, diameter, etc.) was a Sailor 1911 full size. I also really like my Pelikan M800, but find it a bit top heavy posted whereas the 1911 was just right. Which Mont Blanc would compare to either of these... a 146??

146 will be most compatible.

The MB 146 is similar in size to several pens - Sailor 1911 full size, Pel M-800, Parker Duofold Centennial, Stipula Etruria O/S, Delta Medium Dolce Vita. Yet each of these pens has it own unique shape or variations in total length, barrel length, thinkness of the section, nib size and cut, etc. I have examples of all these pens except the Sailor, which I have held in my hand. I like the 146 for its unique size and shape, and I feel you owe it to yourself at least to try one.

Just an opinion.
