Hello all --
I haven't been around these boards in almost a year, but I need some of your expert advice!
I know there's been some talk on the boards about the great little cheapie Sailor "Ink Pen" that can be bought at Daiso stores in Canada (and on Ebay, where I got mine). This may be the cheapest pen I have, but I'm absolutely in love with the nib. It reminds me of a metal dip pen nib, in that it is not tipped, but it's much smoother than all dips I've tried. The nib says "Sailor F-4".
My questions:
a) does Sailor make a similar nib for any of their regular pens (i.e. the 1911M/Sapporo)?
b ) what sort of customized nib could best approximate the writing experience?
I've been considering getting a .5 or .3 cursive italic (or maybe a stub). I love the hint of line variation I see with this pen from not having a round tip, but just metal tines.
If I like this nib, would a stub be too fat and round for my taste? Would I hate the cursive italic, even though it would be flatter, like this Sailor nib, because it would have a limited sweet spot (I don't feel limited by this Sailor nib)?
Does anyone with this little Ink Pen have any thoughts or advice? I feel ridiculous because I'd rather write with this $2 pen than with any of my others!!
Thanks much,
Nicole
