I understand that currently there is no US distributor for Platinum. Short of importing carts from Japan, is there any place in the US that sells black carts?

Nope, no luck. I had to order from Japan. There is no US distributor for Platinum, so there are no more supplies of their ink in the US, except for Jpens which wants $1.25 plus shipping PER CARTRIDGE. Thank heavens for EMS!

If there aren't any cartridges available,you could try reffiling an empty one with a seringe,and you could use the ink brand you want.
