thanks in advance.

When hard rubber, this realllllly is a bad happening.
Ron can comment more, but seems grim.

If it were my pen I would use 'Guerilla glue'.
Edit: I wouldn't pay a 'restorer' to fix it, but couldn't afford a pen
like this anyway, and cost would outweigh benefits for me.
So that's why I'd do it myself, right or wrong.

I would try 'Guerilla glue'. Only a SMALL amount, should work. Apply with tooth pick. Let dry for 24 hours. |
Gorilla Glue... and from what I have heard taking to other restorers, any other off the shelf glue product will not work...
I would not use Gorilla Glue or Crazy Glue on any pen

Just a thought so take it for what it is worth. (Maybe nothing)
If the length of the barrel is not critical maybe it could be cut of at the break and the threads extended. It would take someone with the right equipment. I saw on the fountain pen review about the gentleman that made a really nice hard rubber pen from scratch and he cut his own threads. Maybe he would be willing to fix it?
here is the link to the review.

Contact Victor Chen @
http://www.penopoly.com/index.html. As far as I know, he's the master at hard rubber repairs. It won't be cheap, but from what I understand, he can do the work.
I wouldn't advise trying to glue it yourself, most (if not all) available glues won't work and you'll make further repairs by a professional more complicated.
Just my $0.02 worth.
