I really should not do this considering how fragile Obi Wan's condition has become since I started collecting Parker 51s.......
But, I mean, after all how many times have any of you seen what I am about to show you. Yes we have all heard of them, but we don't often get to see them....
So... here it is...

Fourth Quarter 1943, Cedar Blue Parker 51 Vac filler with Jewelers Band Cap
AND a factory stub nib...
I put in a writing sample with a .6 and .8mm Pelikan Binder stub nib for comparison.
The Parker nib is just a bit wider than the .8mm Binder stub in my Pelikan 200 and lays down a sweet wet line.
edided cuz I cant spel

Very nice Tom! That stub looks to be a bit wide for my handwriting style so I'll let you slide on this one wink.gif tongue.gif

Nice....I've also got a Parker 51 that sports a factory stub. When I first started collecting back in the early-mid 90's, David Nishimura had a whole bunch of NOS 51 stub nibs that he was selling for about $45, IIRR. I bought one and had it put in a nice Burdundy aero with no date code.

In fact, it's inked today with Noodlers Gruene Cactus....Suuuweeeet!

GEEZ, talking about getting into the hobby too late...
$45 for factory stub.... try finding one for that price today...
More like $100.00...
Now the real winner for me would be finding an original factory arabic nib...

OldGriz--My wife just walked in, took a look at the page title, took a look at your Renaissance outfit, snorted and said, "Guess you've found your way home, huh?"

Mmmm. Someone needs to give Tom a history lesson. Kings tend to get their heads lopped off - especially those who use their power to gather lots of treasure!

But lopping of the King's head wouldn't be before the eighth wife, eh?

Which is the reason I am sticking to the one I have...
Of course, SHE would lob off my head if I thought of another wife... so this king (lower case intentional) is not even looking... wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif
