All,
I am the proud owner of my first truly exceptional writing instrument, a black Namiki vanishing point fountain pen. I would like to get the barrel engraved with my name, but my local engraver refuses to do it without knowing specifics about the enamel and lacquer used. I emailed Pilot and they only told me that engraving the pen voids the warranty.
What types of engraving (diamond tip, laser, etc) are safe for this pen? Any reputable engravers that you all know of?
Thanks,
Ben

Your best bet might to be an engraving on the clip as it is metal and shouldn't have any of the possible issues hat going for the body would. That shouldn't void the warranty.
