Full Version: Ink at Base of Nib

I just picked up a Starwalker, Rubber/Metal fountain pen on eBay. The best I can tell, it has all the features and markings of an authentic Mont Blanc pen. What I am noticing is that teh base of the nib piece, where it connects to the body of the pen, there is accumulation of ink. It's wet, but not dripping. The top and side of the actual nib is dry. Shouldn't the ink flow internally to the tip of the nib? Why would there be another exit point for the ink?

This is somewhat typical of Mont Blanc fountain pens that have not been cleaned. My MB pens behave properly if only I remember to clean them from time to time.
