Hi,

My name is Alejandro and I live in Maceió, one of the most beautiful cities of Brazil (www.visitealagoas.com.br).

I am 45 years old now, and I have used fountain pens since I started writing. I went to a catholic school where only fountain pens and lead pencils were allowed.

My main focus of interest is now Omas pens, but I enjoy almost any fountain pen.

Regarding inks, my favourite ones are Aurora Black Aurora Blue and Noodler's.

I frequently read Pentrace.

Welcome aboard! I'm relatively new to FPN, but you will find the folks here very warm, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable and willing to help. Enjoy yourself and I look forward to hearing from you!

Welcome to FPN, Alejandro.

Aurora Inks are great. If only they would make more colors. smile.gif

Hope you enjoy our little group here. Look forward to reading more from you.

Hi Alejandro--

Hope you enjoy the FPN board! It takes a little time to get used to the format being quite different from Pentrace, but it's not hard--and the messages are archived.

Regards,
Ann

Sounds a little like my old school, except that we started off with dip pens first, before we even were allowed fountain pens. biggrin.gif

I see some congruence here as well biggrin.gif. I have a brand which is my main focus right now, but I do enjoy almost every fountain pen. I am not so much into Aurora blue, because I don't like my blues to have purple undertones, but Noodler's inks are amongst my favourites. And I read PT frequently, too biggrin.gif. I guess I do read FPN a little more frequently, these days biggrin.gif.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it here, Alejandro!

Warm regards, Wim

Welcome, Alejandro!

I think I was the only around here who lived in Brazil, so now there are two of us... I live in Juiz de Fora (MG), lived for a time in Rio. I´m a bit jealous ... your pens seem to be much higher class than mine... biggrin.gif Where do you buy Omas in Brazil, BTW?

um grande abraco,

Hi, Alejandro!

Nice to meet you.

Seems that a lot of people have caught the Noodler's bug, including myself. I can blame Wim and his review of Ottoman Rose for getting me started on that! laugh.gif Which colors do you like?

Welcome aboard! I love to use Aurora black and blue inks. I think they are the smoothest I have ever used. However, I never tried Noodlers before.

Several people I have talked with in the USA, who attended Catholic School also were required to use fountain pens in the 1960s and 1970s here in the USA. Nonetheless, at my school, which was publically funded, we didn't use fountain pens, but were required to have excellent penmanship skills. Ironically, now days most students receive very little if any penmanship training, and their writing looks like chicken scratch at best. In fact, some students can't even write their names when they graduate from school in some of the large cities here in the USA. sad.gif
