This is a correction to my initial new thread post. The MB models that I had questions on were MB12,22,31,41.Are these (early1960 models) conidered superior writers /more expensive than the MB Generation?I am close to purchasing either the Generation($200) or an MB12($175).Are these prices reasonable or am I wasting my $?

I see you have a reply in your thread above about the Generations pen. My experience is only with a MB 14, which is the larger sibling to the 12 you mentioned.

It is a first rate pen, as signaled by the "1" in its model number. It is slender, with a pull off cap. The pen is a piston filler, and smooth in operation. The nib is more enclosed than the photos I've seen of the Generations.

As it's a vintage pen you may want to be a bit more careful with your seller. As the 12 is an older pen I've seen more variation in the nb widths, as it isn't unusual to find oblique medium and OB nibs. I bought a OB and had it ground to a cursive italic by Pendemonium. It is consistently an excellent writer.

Your choice will probably come down to what kind of deal you can make for the pens. whether a warranty is important to you, and whether your taste runs to vintage/modern.

Have fun shopping: the best thing is getting to "buy" many pens in your mind until you finally make your decision.
