Just wanted to chime in and say hello. I'm a pen enthusiast from the States and have been lurking for a bit and finally decided to register.

Hi, and welcome to the FPN.

Tell us a little about yourself - what pens you collect or like, how you got into FP's etc.

Hope you find the niche that's just for you - there's something for just about everyone here.

Looking forwards to reading your posts.

Regards

Gerry

Thanks for the warm welcome, Gerry. I like all sorts of pens from different manufacturers (yes, even ballpoints), but I tend to favor Sheaffer and Waterman fountain pens. I'm not into the high-end (yet), but I like to use all my pens from the low-end to moderately priced models. I've always liked pens in general since I was a kid, but I always found something magical about fountain pens.

Hi Apollo,

Welcome to the Fountain Pen Nuthouse biggrin.gif, and thanks for de-lurking and registering!

You mention Sheaffer and Waterman pens. Could you give us any clues as to what you have in your collection or accumulation biggrin.gif?

TIA, warm regards, Wim

Welcome to FPN!

I'm not completely against BPs so if you have any that you think are just outstanding, I'd be interested to know. I like my Cross. And I have two Fisher rip-offs that are great. but i'm very picky when it comes to BPs. They have to be something special to get as much attention as an FP.

anywho - welcome and hope you enjoy the group. It's a friendly lot as you may have already noticed.

Welcome to the group Apollo! I have a few Waterman Phileas and one Expert II that is having its nib repaired right now. I like to use all the pens I have and rotate them very often, but I could never buy a pen that costs $5,000 + just to let it sit around and not use it.

Welcome aboard Apollo! There are many who are into the low-to-mid priced fp's, myself included. And there are many who use whatever they have, again, myself included. Looking forward to seeing you around!

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. This is certainly a friendly place.

As far as fountain pens, I own 2 Waterman Phileas models as well as an Expert II and a Hemisphere model. From Sheaffer I own 2 Preludes, 1 Agio Compact, 2 Javelins and a Viewpoint Calligraphy pen. Others include a Monteverde Invincia, a Retro 51 Tornado, 2 Parker Reflex models, a Yafa cartridge pen and a cheap "Sterling Kelt" fountain pen purchased from a Target store. Alas, most of the other pens I own are ballpoints, rollerballs and gel pens from Cross, Sensa, Fisher, Parker, Monteverde, Faber-Castell as well as Sheaffer and Waterman. I too like to rotate the pens I carry and use on a daily basis, but there are a few models that I've grown fond of.

My favorites from my collection "so far":
Fountain Pen: Sheaffer Prelude (black laque)
Gel pen: Sensa Stylist (chrome)
Ballpoint: Cross Century II (blue)
Rollerball: Waterman Hemisphere (black laque)

On my immediate wish list are the Parker Sonnet, Waterman Carene, Sheaffer Intrigue and Waterman Charleston, but I'd also like to sample other fountain pens from Pelikan, Lamy and Caran d'Ache. Hmm.....I see an addiction forming biggrin.gif

Hi Apollo, and welcome!

Looks like you've got quite a few pens already--you'll probably find a lot that you'll relate to here. Hope you enjoy FPN.

Welcome, Apollo! biggrin.gif

Those Sensa pens are great, aren't they?
Apollo
Yes, indeed they are. smile.gif
