This is my very first Pelikan! I have been lusting after an M200 for a while now. Finally the opportunity came up for me to get one! And twice my luck is that the one I found was the discontinued anthracite demonstrator! It is a fine nib that is very smooth but with a little bit of feedback. Although fine nibs are great for writing when space matters, I am slowly realizing that with my larger handwriting, I may be more of a medium nib person. If I eventually decide to get an M250 nib for this pen, it may be a medium. But anyways, back to the pen at hand (or in hand biggrin.gif ). A recent thread in the Pelikan forum discussed a desire of some to have an anthracite demonstrator with silver trim pieces. Now that I have seen this pen in person, I wouldn't want anything else but the gold. It compliments the smoke color perfectly. This is also my first pen with a piston filler. I love the amount of ink it holds! I definitely see more Pelikans in my future.

When it arrived, the size was a bit of a surprise to me. It is alot smaller than I thought it was. It's hard to tell the size from pictures online. Although I think I have seen all of the sizes (except an M300) in person, but never held them. I can't even imagine how tiny an M300 must be! Overall though, the size fits in my hand well. It's well balanced with the cap un-posted (I never post caps). Although I like that the cap is so lightweight that it doesn't affect the balance of the pen if it was posted.

I am very happy with this pen! It may have sparked a draw towards more Pelikans...

Here is the only decent picture I could get of it

The anthracite demonstrator was my first Pelikan pen as well. The size is compact, but not too small, and it writes like a dream. I now have four M2xx pens (also the M205, amber, and citroenpers) and I'm still on the prowl for more.

I've held an M300. They're a bit heftier than you'd expect from the size, and they're short enough that I wouldn't want to write with one unposted (I generally don't post the cap). I didn't have the opportunity to dip-test, however. They seem nice, but too small for my taste, I think.

Congratulations on your first Pel!

Yeah, actually the M200 is one of the smallest pens that I own. I'm thinking that an M800 or even a M1000 would be more my size. Too bad I can't afford either one blink.gif

Nice job snagging a grey demo! I've been looking for one, but they seem to be sold out everywhere.

Congrats,
