I’m not normally a grey ink fan. My experience up until now has been that grey equals watered down black. I was quite surprised to find that this pre-Slovenian Sheaffer Grey looks like, well grey. The other surprises: it dried quickly, flowed well once I primed my huge Sheaffer bold italic nib, it didn’t feather much even on my cheapo pad of paper, and had some nice subtle shading. The shading even retained its grey color rather than just looking like odd black blobs.
So, here’s a scan so you can judge for yourself:
(The paper is a cheap pad of Tops Docket Gold.)
I’m not affiliated with Sheaffer, but you will find some packages of this ink (I won a huge auction lot) and one of these Sheaffer Prelude Calligraphy pens (a duplicate in my collection) in my marketplace thread.
Edited: the cartridges are all on hold, but the pen is still avaliable.

Just FYI here's a scan of some of my Caran D'Ache inks on the same paper(Saffron, Caribbean Sea, and Storm.) If you blow this image up you can see that these inks feathered a bit more.

Thanks, Kate! I have a little vial I never opened but I might try it out. Grey is a good mixer, too :)

My pleasure Taki. I keep telling myself that I'm going to contribute more reviews, but I always seem to run out of time first. Since I had to do some writing samples for the Marketplace listing it forced me to finally do a review. One down, about a hundred to go!
