I've acquired a used THink pen that has a feed problem -- it writes for a few lines and then goes dry -- starts again after a little fiddling -- then goes dry.
I've pulled the nib and feed out and cleaned them -- there wasn't any dried ink in them. THis did not solve the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this problem with THink pens? Fountain Pen Hospital gave me the name and number of THink's repair folks, and I'll call them tomorrow. Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out what to do -- I LOVE this pen & modified nib, and I want to make it work! Is there another nib unit that will work in this pen if it's a design problem?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated -- I got this at a good price, so I won't be unhappy if it never works better than it does -- but I'd be ecstatic if I could make it into a fully-functional pen.

Hi HP,
I have a THink pen and it's a nice writer now, but it had a bit of a starting problem before I switched to a more free-flowing ink (Private Reserve Tanzanite or Waterman Florida-Blue...I can't recall which...) and widened the spacing between the tines with a bit of vellum. Alternately, you could try using cartridges, rather than the tiny convertor that comes with the pen...

OK, thanks. I switched to WAterman Florida Blue and used a metal shim between the tines -- it seemed to improve, but not cure, the issue. I'm going to try the shim again. If it doesn't help, I guess I'll call their repair folks and see what they suggest. Thanks for your suggestions!

I've called the Krone people and they said send the pen to them -- so off it'll go tomorrow!

Yea for Krone!!! They replaced the malfunctioning Think pen (not only was the nib/feed not working, but the threads on the cap weren't holding it tightly) -- I came home today to find a big box containing an entirely new pen and convertor. The cost to me? Zip, nada, nothing.
So now, even if I pay to have the nib modified, it will still have been a bargain!!
Great customer service on Krone's part!!!

Good to hear about the happy ending. Thanks for the update!

(I wonder what was wrong with the feed....
