Today I received a new Frontier from ebay, (because I found a good excuse to justify needing another one. wink.gif) and it has a different decorative design on the nib. Different from the one I'm used to.
I like these pens. Cheap (on ebay), sturdy, goodlooking and very good writers. They make good gift. I have seen and used (or tested) a bunch of them now and they all had this decorative design on the nib:

This pixture is from google. I myself have tried the stainless steel ones and a (I think) titanium plated one. But all with this decoration.

But now I just got a new one with another decoration. The pic attached is made with an old webcam. It was the best I could do. My camaraphone can't even focus on small things. But I think it's clear enough to see the difference.

I got this pen from a UK pen seller I have very good experiances with. He has 100% feedback and from my experiance that's well deserved. I have no reason to believe he sells fakes. Why would anyone want to fake a cheap pen like the Frontier anyway? This pen looks and feels as good as my other Frontiers and it writes just as well too.
Only the lines on the nib got me puzzled. Anyone else seen this?
BTW, it's the Chromaflair Purple Frontier. Looks very nice. biggrin.gif

The last picture shows the current production Frontier nibs. My Frontier also has the first nib style.

Thanks maia, I didn't know that.
From the little bit I've written with it so far it feels like the only thing they've changed is the look. It's a smooth writer that lays down a medium/fine (it's an F) line.
