YEAH RIGHT !!!!!!
Take a look at the description on this one
Vacumatic Demonstrator/Sample Pen

I questioned the seller about his description and got this response..
"the plastic plungers did ''''NOT'''' come out until 1942.
this is a first year for the ""demonstrator / prototype model of the new plunger system . this wasnt even on the markert in 1940. in the pictures it is dated 1940.3rd quarter"

I answered with
"Just because it has a plastic plunger it does not make it a prototype or a demonstrator pen...
Many pens were restored using the plastic plunger after the fact... it was a common practice for Parker to use the current filler to restore older pens...
If you have documented evidence of this being a prototype demonstrator pen, I would love to see it."

I am awaiting his response, which should be a real winner..

Not a demonstrator, by any means.

Probably a replacement filler, post war (looks like black anodized aluminum retainer ring to me, but I could be wrong).

Fair condition, depending on barrel transparency.

Nothing exotic, and I'm FAR from an expert on Vacumatics!

Gotta agree. Plain Jane debutante. Nice little pen. If the barrel was clear it would be a nice user.

Not in any way shape or form a demonstrator. The clear plastic filler is not indicative of a demonstrator at all.

Good looking imprint on this one though.

Oh well, some people are not as attuned to the nuances of descriptions of pens as we are.

Cheers,

the current bid reflects the rarity of the pen.

Thanks guys, you see if it wasn't for experts like you people, idiot novices like me blush.gif would be emptying our wallets for that.
