are the filler mechanisms for the duofolds, vacumatics, and "51" pens interchangable?

Yes and no. How's that for an answer? blink.gif

There are the lockdown fillers, both standard and OS size, the speedline fillers with different size blind cap nipples, and then the later "disposable" fillers which were uniform in size.

The later "disposable" filler units with the plastic button may be interchangeable betweek the Vacumatics, Vac fill Duofolds and 51s, and in general are. But there is an exception.

Many of the Duofolds and Vacumatics had fillers with plastic blind cap nipples (there was a discussion on removing these last week, you may recall). Though the thread is the same size, I find that they're not cut as deep on pens with plastic fillers, and the metal ones don't like to go in. If your pen has one of these and you need to replace it, you will need to chase and open up the threads before you can install a unit with metal threads.
