A few photos below of the chief prize from the LA pen show, my Jules pen. Please see the review I've posted over at Pentrace.com for details--I'll post an similar review here at FPN (since we are archive them here!), but for now, I'm too pooped to provide more info, except to say I love this pen!

Er... I'm really glad you like it, really!
The nautilus on the nib is lovely; however, the rest is not my cup of tea at all.

Elaine--
About the pen makers, this is the first pen from Dragon, which is the husband and wife team of Jeff Boschert and Dr. Joyce Tang. Jeff is an inventor in the aquarium industry. Joyce is a family physician who trained at Stanford after studying Molecular Biology at UC Berkeley. They both now work as full-time artisan pen makers.
That's the more official side of the equation. On the chit-chat side, Jeff and Joyce are members of the Pan Pacific Pen Club, which is how I came to know them, besides Joyce being a steady presence over at Pentrace. They live in the Bay Area and I've got to say that they are about the sweetest and friendliest, most humble folks I've ever known. They rather destroy the stereotype of bright, talented people being snotty, if you know what I mean. And they have a gread dog, YumYum the labradoodle!
Hope that helps!

The pen is named "Jules" after Jules Verne, author of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Dragon is the name of our company,...so, in a sense, the pen is a Dragon.

what a wonderful pen, Dan. And knowing the makers and the pen's history makes it extra special. Any chance you can add a photo of the pen uncapped? I saw their promo and it looked like the squid attaches itself to the pen (squid attack), but looking at your photo, it looks as though the pen may separate at the base of the squid's body? Also, is the material glittery or solid? There seem to be signs of celluloid-like depth. Can you list their website for other Dragon pens? Thanks again!
