Full Version: Where to find good Sheaffers for sale?
The Fountain Pen Network > Brand Focus > The Sheaffer Forum

It's so cool to have a Sheaffer pen forum! My kudos to whoever thought of this idea!!

So.....I'd love to hear from you other Sheaffer fans where you look to find good models, good prices, whatever, on Sheaffer pens, especially the oldies.

I don't like to use Ebay to purchase things, have been burned a couple of times, so I guess I'm willing to go to pensites to find pens.

Some of the ones I've gone to are:

Jim Gaston

Pendemonium

Any other recommendations?

Thanks,

John aka Chela

If you ever have the opportunity to go to a pen show, I'd say that is the best place to buy a pen. You get to see, feel, and possibly dip the pen. You also have more choices than you'd imagine. (If you plan on going to a show - ask for advice here)

Being the moderator of this forum Jim can't add his name to the list so I'll do it. www.penhero.com is a great place for tons of information on Sheaffers as well as a "for sale" section.

Oh, and the ones you mention are great!

PenHero gets my vote too!

Jim Gaston and Penhero. Alphabetical order biggrin.gif
They are both terrific gentlemen to deal with.

While there is nothing like actually being able to hold the pen in your hands before purchasing, I have to say that PenHero has been absolutely wonderful in speed, price, and pleasure. (It's the little hand-written notes on the invoices that delight me.)

With regard to online dealers who specialize in modern Sheaffer products:
I have always had very pleasant experiences with the two Jims of Sheaffer fame---FPN moderator Jim M. of www.penhero.com and Jim Gaston of www.jimgaston.com---and would recommend both of them (I believe they are both authorized Sheaffer dealers).

Though it is not their specialty, I found some very good deals on modern Sheaffers (no vintage ones, tho') at http://www.isellpens.com (check out the Sheaffer section, as well as the Closeouts and/or Specials section).

Pendemonium (Pendemonium.com) is located in the Sheaffer factory town of Fort Madison, Iowa, so they have a large selection of modern Sheaffers and some vintage ones, too. They have excellent service.

As for vintage pens (including, but not limited to, Sheaffers), I have had very good dealings with Rosspens.com, Ink-Pen.com, and GoPens.com
They are the first ones that come to mind, but I am sure I am forgetting some others...If so, I apologize!

My vote has to go to Penhero.com. I've ordered from him and the service is superquick, personal, the prices are great, . . . oh, and did I mention fast service.

As a a matter of fact, I'll be placing another order shortly!

Another voice for the choir! All together now...

PENHERO.COM! smile.gif

Seriously great service! Jim is top notch!

But I may have to add it to my list of blocked sites before I end up in the poorhouse (or at least the doghouse...) wink.gif
