Four weeks ago, I finally got my act together acted on my long-held thought of getting a proper pen. I bought an expensivish fountain pen on holiday in Poland thinking I'd be saving some bucks, only to discover that it could be bought for $7 LESS in a shop bang smack in the middle of the high street vis-a-vis the National Assembly here. So much for Norway being the worlds most expensive country!

However, I then thought I'd get my old worn Parker 45 in working order, took it to a shop, but ended up buying a new one. Then I started reading about pens on the net (thanks GLEN!), then I took a trip to eBay, and then...
Well, I think some of you know how things progressed and how they may end.

On the other hand, I still have the idea that if I own a pen it should be because I want to, and will, use it. So hopefully there will be some limits.

You are falling faster then most. Too late to tell you to run away.
Sigh, its like that for most here and I guess there will be more.

Welcome to the swift path from simple interest to obsession. You will get much encouragement from the members of this list. Also, there is a lot of useful knowledge about writing equipment expressed in these pages. biggrin.gif

Norway is a wonderful country. I have good friends in Oslo and Tromsø.

Thanks for the kind welcome.
Futhark - you fool me not, a name like that - you´re already in the country. Or maybe Sweden, Denmark or Iceland I suppose.

Hello and welcome.

As you travel and find more fountain pens, or simply acquire them where you live, you'll find the road to "penury" goes right through FPN. Of course there is the obligatory hat tip to the ink collection you'll need to fill all those nifty, interesting, beautiful, unique pens. blush.gif unsure.gif blush.gif

The conversation with people around here is also addicting. Don't worry about it, you've signed up and it's already too late to avoid the "bug". Then again, why would anyone in their right mind want to avoid anything connected with the fun of using and collecting Fountain Pens? cool.gif

Hi smile.gif and welcome to FPN! Your addiction is off to a roaring start - but it's a relatively harmless addition. biggrin.gif
