Hi
Newbie to this forum.
I have been surfing the net a bit on oblique, stub and italic nibs. I have noticed that the Estie has a lot of nibs available and would like to get one; I love changing nibs.
What I haven't found is what nibs can go with what pen series, is there such a list? just wanted to know abit more so when I buy a nib I don't be the wrong ones and of course deciding what model Estie to get.
Thanks
Eric

Eric-
With minor exception in very, very obscure early models, every re-new-point will fit in every Esterbrook pen from 1932-1971. So, go find that nib and ink up!
Now if you mean what nib is appropriate age wise with what series, that's a whole other matter, of which, most people don't care.

Thanks, I will do as suggested. I am looking for a work horse that I can change different nibs when I get bored. So it looks like the estie will be an ideal solution.

It is--I've probably got a couple of dozen nibs. The good thing also is that most of them are quite inexpensive NOS, so if you drop a pen or damage it you can just replace the nib out.

Regarding which nibs to use for Esterbrook, when I was at the DC Pen Show a couple of years back one of the vendors who specializes in Esterbrook (sorry--didn't get his name) offered what was, for me, a gem of knowledge: Osmroid-Esterbrook compatibility.
The Osmroid calligraphy pens had some excellent screw-in nibs in the models I bought in the late '70's. They are squared off for calligraphy and don't appear to have iridium on the tips. Those screw right into Esterbrooks and appear to work fine. I've put two or three into action and find the Esterbrook feed to these nibs better than I remembered the on the original Osmroid lever and screw-fill models.
Be advised that before Osmroid stopped making pens, they had changed to a newer version which had the nib integral with the part of the pen that screwed into the barrel. These later ones take international cartridges or converters.
The earlier Osmroid nibs which work in my Esterbrooks ranged from ef through B-1,2,3 and 4. My favorite is the IF or intermediate fine, which is halfway between their fine and medium designations.
Hope this helps those seeking stub or calligraphy-style writers.
