Hello Everybody! Just discovered this site recently. I started using FPs when I was about 12 years old. My English subject teacher required us to use FPs in writing our book reports or essays. However by the time I entered High School I've pretty much forgotten how to use one ;-) . In college I preferred to use a laptop for all my writing needs :-). Not too long ago, I saw a Waterman Phileas writing kit at my local Staples shop. Seeing this kit rekindled fond memories of my youth. I bought the kit, filled the converter with ink, and started writing! I loved it! Getting ink all over my fingers while filling the converter also brought back fond memories :-). I hope to be able to contribute something valuable to this site one of these days, but right now, I'm learning. :-)

p.s. Oh yeah, aside from the Phileas, I am now a proud owner of a Waterman Carene in medium nib :-)

Hi

and welcome! Watermans are hard to beat. I have 3 Phileases, a Charleston, and a brand new Carene with a fine nib. I installed myself at a coffee shop this afternoon and did quite a bit of writing with the Carene. It's a great pen.

Hi Judybug and mike1

thanks for the welcome. I really enjoy my watermans. Ironically, I used a Parker FP back in my school days... go figure ...

Welcome. If you stick around here, be prepared to get a second..maybe third job to pay for the habit!

Thanks for the welcome playpen; and to think this started as a $45 habit

Hi Ben and welcome aboard. I too, have several Phileases and like them a lot as an everyday pen, much like my Sheaffer Snorkels. Moreover, I came to love my Waterman pens in history class, when writing those long dreaded Blue Book exams.

Hi Ron, I agree with you about the Phileas! Although currently I'm having fun with my Carene
