I just saw an announcement for a new Edson called, I think, "Diamond Black." It seems to be a new color Edson, but it costs over $200 more retail than the blue model. Does anyone know why it is so much more expensive? - I really like my Edsons, but at this price this will probably be one that I don't collect.

Usually these are priced at a premium because they can be. Though the market is rather thin, as long as the production run isn't rediculous it can carry the load. Just the name sounds so attractive I imagine people have already started to line up, cash in hand.

Oh rats, just checkd Worldlux, the darn thing is platinum trim, definitely not my cup of Kava. However, I notice that there are many here who prefer the platinum trim so it sounds like I said, a line at the counter.

Edit.

Found a picture & price at Fountain Pen Hospital. Set for April delivery. Strange, FPH already has it priced at a discount. I don't understand that one. blink.gif

Fountain Pen Hospital has "standard discounts" for several brands. Watermans are 20% off Suggested Retail Price, I think.

Yes, but I would think they would try to hold MSRP for at least three months after it hit the showcase to at least skim the cream. Their giving up $205 a unit on the early adopters which I am sure they could well put to their extremely high fixed costs of business in NYC. As it is they are discounting a month ahead of receipt of the goods. huh.gif
