Hi rroossinck,

Not exactly sure what you are asking. Maybe you can refrase your question and I will try to help you. The only Parker 75 that had push button top was the classic slim 75. All other 75 BP's were cap acctivated if this helps.

Francis:

Please enlighten me. This has been puzzling me for a while.

I always thought the Classic BP/MP are not part of the 75 line. They may be in Cisele but they are not 75s. Please correct me if I am wrong.

TIA

HI Raymond,

I have to agree with you that I also do not consider the Classic BP/MP a true 75, but in 70's, Parker did market them as the Parker Classic Slim 75. In my mind a true 75 BP is cap activated and the MP is a cap twist action with the beehive tassie.
Heres a couple of scans of this from a '73 and '74 catalog. I also have the shipping boxes marked: Parker Classic Slim 75. At this time the Classic was fairly new and I think this is how Parker jump started the sales of the Classic, as the 75 already had a good share of the market.
Hope this helps clear up any misunderstanding on the Classic 75.

Interesting.

I have a 75 BP in Cisele pattern - but it is a desk pen with a 'tail' fitted for a chain as in a bank, and it is slimmer thana regular 75, although I haven't dug out my micrometer yet.

Is this likely to be a 75 Classic Slim BP desk pen? And what sort of business would have used sterling silver pens tied with chains to the desk....pretty upscale bank, if you ask me....

Thanks Francis and Bill for the info.

This is very interesting. So the slim Classic Cisele is indeed a 75.

Cheers

Hi. It was actually advertised as a 75
Kalessin
Calling the "Classic" models "75 Classic" sounds like the marketing department wanted to borrow some of the cachet of the 75 models...

I always thought they were two different models sold alongside each other, the Classic FP is quite different from the 75, I wonder if the adverts were a marketing ploy to boost the image of the Classic?
