Has anyone had any experience with Aurora warranty repair? I purchased a new Aurora pen in early January and have returned the nib to the dealer twice now -- the first replacement nib I received was nice, but it was silver rather than gold. I received the second replacement today, and I swear it's the original unacceptable nib (sharp, scratchy, and no ink flow). Each of these "nib swaps" has taken weeks to carry out! I called Kenro Industries in Mineola NY (the authorized rep) and was advised to send it to them -- they did say that they may have to ship it to Italy for repair.

Any suggestions? Would dealing directly with Kenro be the best route? Has anyone else dealt with them?

I had wanted to return the entire pen initially, but the dealer told me they wouldn't take it back -- just exchange the nib.

Thanks for any advice. HP

Henny, call Liz Lopes over at Kenro, or Danny (can't remember the last name). They'll take very good care of you. They might be a little backlogged because they've just taken on Omas as the national distributor, but they'll do a good job for you.

They do have a repair facility in NY.

If you don't get the satisfaction you want, send me a note. I've got a few other tricks up my sleeve.

Scott (PinarelloOnly), would you chime in on this one? I know you've worked with their team before on a couple of things...Aurora collector that you are...smile.gif

I've had some dealings with Danny Lowe at Kenro. Thus far everything has been great. I've got an Omas currently having a nib swap, but because of the way Omas' nibs are installed and sealed and Kenro's newness with Omas, it's in Italy. However, the nib exchange fee wasn't any higher because of the trip across the pond. Danny has been very responsive and thus far I'm quite happy. His contact info is:

OK, thanks! I feel better sending it off to them if others have had a good experience. I spoke to someone named Amanda when I called, and she agreed to waive the warranty fee since I've already spent 2 months and a fortune mailing the nibs hither and yon. I'm not concerned with the time involved -- I've got other pens -- I just think that an Aurora pen should be a decent writer and this one is far from it.

I'll update you as matters progress -- thanks for taking the time to respond and help!

I would echo the kudos for KENRO expressed here. I had an Aurora Afrika take a dive off a table several months ago (entirely my fault)and completely break in half where the section joins the ink window as well as break one tine off the nib.
I sent it off to KENRO and a couple of months later recieved essentially a completely new pen with a "compliments of" note attached. As far as I can tell, the only original piece of my pen is the cap with the edition number.
