Hi,
I am planning on buying a Parker Sonnet ST BP and FP in lacquer blue, but I'd like to know more about the nib of the FP. Is is stainless steel or gold/rhodium plated? Do their nibs tend to be on the "wide" side? I plan to use it with Waterman blue-black. Are there any ink brands i need to avoid on this FP?

Let me know of any of your experiences with the Sonnet ST line! BTW im also eyeing the Chilseled Tartan....

thanks
Jack

The nib is not stainless, nor is it on the wide side. Fine is fine. Richard Binder recommends Waterman ink for the Sonnet FP, so you're in good hands there. Some great colors, besides the blue - Ruby red, Verdigris, and the chiselled tartan is cool, too.

Mine does not like Noodler's. huh.gif
Pelikan, Waterman, Aurora, and PR all work great.

My favorite pattern/color is the Cisele. My M 18k runs pretty much true Med. Not as wide as the Pelikan M, which is on the very wide side, and wider than the VP M which runs on the narrow side.
