I can answer to you: No. All my italian fountain pens I bought are from ebay auctions, used if the seller was italian, and new if the seller was a foreigner.
It is because I saw italian prices for aurora, ancora, omas, ferrari da varese, etc.
only some sale in some site and some good unknow to world manufacturer (see pens.it).
Also in Italy italian brands have high prices at retailers. For some reason I don't know I found that some american online seller has low prices than italian for italian brands.

Here you can find a place where people makes you proud also of cheap fountain pens. It is the paradise of collectors, best forum on the net as I have seen.

Omas pens are THE favourite in my collection followed by Visconti,Stipula and Signum.
