With all of the talk about truewriters lately, I thought I'd snap a shot or two. I'm learning how to shoot better pics, but it is slow going.

Lookin' good, pal. What's the light that's providing the background? If I had to wager a guess, I'd say it was incandescent?
I've struggled with representing true color of various different subjects - pens and otherwise. I think it's because of the soft, yellow-ish light that tends to cast everything in less than true color.
That, and the fact that I'm a rank amatuer.

You're right, it is an ordinary light fixture. Is there anything you would recommend? I am learning more about my camera, I guess that means reading the manual...

The more I learn, the more I'm starting to think that natural light is the best way to go. I have yet to make it all the way through the following thread, but I think it's definitely a smart idea.

Check on your camera. If you have a digital like I do, there has to be on the menu button, some kind of icon that lets you change from sunlight (a sun icon) to incandescent ( a bulb icon). That's how I get rid of the yellow tone and shoot my pens here in my desk (a tent would enormeously help, though!).
