I just got a vacumatic pencil that was advertised (and came ) with a missing ring, on the cap where it comes apart to get at the eraser. Can this ring be replaced? (Is there a message board like this for
old pencils, and pencil repairs?)

Quite possibly it can be replaced. Ron Worn or Richar Binder would be the ones to answer definitively, but it might be possible to walk it back onto the barrel and affix it in place.

I think there is a section on this in Da Book by Frank Dubiel.
