I'm repairing a P51, the kind with the o-ring in the hood. The existing ring was hardened, so I removed it.

Da book says to just use rubber cement in the threads when putting it back together.

However, if one of the Sheaffer o-rings fits, wouldn't that be a better repair?

Does anyone know if either of these o-rings fits?

What does everyone else do when re-assembling a P51?

In another thread Giovanni recommended the TD o-ring from a Sheaffer PFM as a replacement.
