Ok; can someone tell me why this group:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...mMakeTrack=true has skyrocketed so high? Looks like $5 stuff... did I miss something?

Do the words "Buyers as dumb as a box of rocks" mean anything
Where are these buyers when my stuff is being sold on eBay....

The thing is, Tom, I've paid $20 for some old pens, if one or two were nice and I figured it would cost me maybe $30 to get them in shape. But $20 is one thing... $178 is something else...
I think you're right; it's just dumb buyers

$5 times 50 is $250
doesn't seem scary unreasonable

I wouldn't be so quick to assume dumb buyers. It could be, but do you know what everything in there is? All it takes is one Lebeouf or Triad or a rare Wahl variant like an Olympian tucked in there and $272 is not such a bad price.

If someone is willing to pay $270 for 50 pens then I would think there would be some people out there who would pay 20-40 for some of those pens. Ive seen a few junk pens fetch high prices on ebay and other auction sites.
You will probibly see all those pens relisted in a week or two.

Every time I see a lot of pens that big, people seem to overbid for it. When there's 3-5 pens in a lot, it goes for a reasonable price, but when there is something like 50 it goes crazy. I think people are gambling - thinking they have 50 chances of finding something rare.
Who knows, maybe there's a first-year Vacumatic or something hiding in there, but I don't see it.
Then again, if you went to the trouble of relisting each piece on eBay you'd probably still make a profit. Lots of work, though...
