Help...Need Help... First Year... black...aluminum jewels....The one thing that I liked about it is that it could *qutie possibly* be a pre production pen becayse (according to the seller) says Parker "51" made in USA, with out a date code... I would pee my pants if it was a pre production. Otherwise, its a First Year biggrin.gif Does anyone have more info on Pre production pens, other then the slight color difference in the "Mauve" "brick color" "light blue" and "light green"

You could very well have a 51 that has the date code worn off.... they were not always stamped as deep as the Made in USA engraving.. so that is the first thing to look at...
Have you received the pen yet....
If so, please post pictures of the imprint (It should be on the blind cap).
If it is a gold filled cap the Karat marking should be on the top of the cap just below the tassie.
I am assuming the cap and blind cap have aluminum jewels....

Without actually seeing pictures of the pen and the markings it is hard to tell.

No, I didnt get the pen yet, but its coming. It could be worn off, but Ill check really close when it comes. It has a wavy scallop and line pattern. As from Parker 51.com,

"Gold Filled Caps with gold filled clips. Pattern is groups of 2 lines and 2 scalloped lines, all around the cap, with no cap band. Gold content at top of cap. Found with aluminum jewels most of the time."

Speedline filler, metal jewels, According to the description, It says 1/10K gold filled Made in USA. I will try to post pictures when I get it.

I would like to hope for you that it is a pre production pen, but I have to say, that my thoughts are that it either has a light, or worn date code. It would be cool to end up with one in such a way, but my thoughts were that pre production pens all were wedding band caps.

At least the pen you're getting has my favorite cap on it. wink.gif
