Looking back through the review list, i noticed that The Noble Savage had enlightened us on the Stipula Etruria Blue.

http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/in...?showtopic=6900

This is by all means an excellent review.I agree with him on all counts with a quibble here and there.I really wanted to add some photos to the mix.
This is the Amber version of the Etruria.

The nib is as smooth as butter!! A delight to use.Only one pen in my collection writes better. That is the Signum Nova.

Here is a sample of the pen and it's lines on #20 white paper with Private Reserve Chocolat:

Noble's review said most of what i would have wanted to.The only exception would be cost as i paid for a used pen. That made it a steal.

Hope these pics help. The amber colour can really be difficult to photograph.
I will be posting a review of Private Reserve's Chocolat soon.

Thanks for the photos and the thread.

I think the Etruria O/S pens are wonderful. Their size it just right, their design gives them a comfortable feel in my hand, and I love the big good writing nibs. The amber is lovely, isn't it? And if you got a good price on top of everything else, you have a treasure.

By the way, nice handwriting.

Absolutely gorgeous pen! The Etruria is ddefinitely on my wish list too.
I am just wondering why so many people on here keep reading Lamy reviews and this review goes by almost unnoticed.
I wished I could read more about such celluloid pens.

Oh well,to each his own.I suppose the Lamy have their fans.I prefer more traditional FP's i guess. The more modern styles just don't appeal.I dress vintage (1930's and 40's) and the Stipula and others just seemt o go well with it.The Lamy isn't my favourite brand.

Thanks for the kind words.Much appreciated.

I have a Signum (Orione) and I think it's one of my best writers, too!

Thanks for the review, JD. I know you already have some nice Visconti pens, so I'm guessing you like Italian pens smile.gif

I'm sure Wim would comment on your review as he is a *huge* Stipula (esp. Etruria) fan, but I haven't seen him on FPN for ages. I know he's busy with work, but has anyone heard from him lately? unsure.gif
(sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm kind of worried; I wrote to him a while back and he said he'd be really busy throughout Dec. and Jan. , IIRC....)

Wim,where are you???!!!

I would be curious as to his comments as well Maja. And yes,i do like Italian pens.Since i'm Swiss/Italian,maybe i'm a wee bit biased tongue.gif tongue.gif
I just have not found other manufacturers that do it for me.The Italians do!!
