So... some inks in some pens tend to get a little dark if I don't use them for a few days. most of the time I don't care. sometimes it annoys me and I wick away a bit of the ink in the nib to pull fresh ink into it. Find this to be a bit of a pain as well as I have to then get up and toss the tissue else worry about dog finding it, shredding it and staining carpets or whatever.
I was thinking of binding several small squares (3" x 3" say) of blotter paper which I find I rarely use for its intended purpose. I wicked one nib briefly and it seemed to work better, faster than tissue. Less ink loss and less mess on the top of the nib. This also avoids the problem of fibres getting into the tines or feed. With a solid cover of some sort, no worry about ink on things that shouldn't have ink.
whatcha think? make sense? not?
