I plan to get a pilot decimo, but not sure which nib (F,M,broad) to choose. Any suggestions from the decimo owners? Thanks!

These nibs are the same as on other Vanishing Point pens, aren't they?

Yes. The nibs that are coming through from Japan now will fit either the standard Vanishing Point or the décimo. I haven't seen a Fermo yet and therefore can't say what fits it or doesn't.

I just bought a dusky pink Decimo for my wife's Birthday as she's been commenting favorably about my VP. I can affirm that the internals are interchangeable. Incidentally, my local store, MaiDo is Japanese and imports items directly. They, sadly, are closing the store in Palo Alto, CA (leaves them w. San Francisco, I believe) and they were selling everything for 30% off (including Decimo's ~$105). They had three left on Friday!

Does the new Decimó nib section take a squeeze bladder or piston style ink converter?

wow, $105 for a decimo, unfortunately, I live nowhere near the sunny CA. Any other places (preferably online) that have decimo for a good price?

Either. The nibs that I'm getting now have piston converters and fit perfectly, but the nib that came in my décimo has a squeezer.

Richard,
I would be interested to hear what you think about the two styles of converters. I recently got a squeeze converter, but it's always nice to hear what the experts think!

Is there a difference in capacity between the converters?

I prefer the squeezie. It fills and flushes faster and more positively. I've never tested capacity, however.

Newpen,
Check out Japan Ujuku Pen Shop. Yamada san has the Decimo in stock in 5 colors. See
http://ujuku.jpn.ph/KAIMONO/penframe.htm for details
I bought one from him at the end of last year and would definitely purchase from him again. The Decimo I received is a squeeze filler with a medium nib (similar to a Pelikan fine) and is very nice. I have the old style and new style Vanishing Points and the Decimo, and for me the Decimo is by far the most comfortable to use.
Regards,
Eric

Thanks Richard, I had a feeling that you would say that! I would tend to agree that it is easier to fill and clean. I would like to be able to lay hands on another one for other VP.

Is there a retailer for the aerometric converters here in the states?

Actually I was just thinking that we should ask Richard that very question, now that he is an authorized Pilot/Namiki dealer.....

I'm guessing that Richard probably hasn't had the time to do the appropriate digging on the decimo either...maybe after Philly.
I just found out that my wife wants a VP of some sort...I think she'd rather have the decimo.
She also wants a cursive italic or a stub for it...so that broad nib that you sent may come in pretty handy!
