sad.gif The package came today, I couldn't open it right away, we had company dinner was almost ready. I knew what was in the box, I could hardly wait untill dinner was over. Finnally the time was right to stage my exit, off to the den, tear open the box, dig through the bubble wrap, cut the seal on the cardboard box. I open the nice leather case with the Namiki name on it, my what a wonderful looking pen, The Falcon, nice. Lift the tray, move the paperwork, What The ......
one (1) cartridge and NO CONVERTER. You have got to be kidding me.

This is only my 2nd purchase, my first being my Cross Apogee, which came with several cartridges and a converter. Is this the norm? or is this the Exception? I guess it was wrong to assume it would be there, but for the price it should have. So for my education what is the norm? What do we have the right to expect?

Falcon should come with a converter. Where did you buy it from? I'd inform them that it didn't come with a converter. I'll bet that they send you one for free.

I notice most cart/converter pens come with a converter. Exceptions are on the lower-price end of the scale. My Lamy Safaris didn't come with converters -- they're $5 extra. But I'm with you, they should come with converters unless they explicity tell you that they are not included.

My Falcon came with a converter. This is the person I contacted when I considered purchasing another cap for my Falcon when it got scratched. As I recall this is a person from customer service and it took a couple days to receive a good detailed response. BKeller@pilotpen.com Good luck. andy

wallbash.gif You just won't believe how stupid I was. I am always telling folks that if you do things in a hurry you will make stupid mistakes. Well thats just what I did. We had company so I just had a few minutes to look at my new pen, and jumped to an assumptions right off the bat. The next morning when I had the opportunity to spend more time I discovered the converter already mounted in the pen. I then proceeded to smack my forhead, DUHHHHH.... my last pen did not present itself in this manner thus the confusion. My apologies to Namiki, and my thanks to HDoug and andyslo for their input. I will have more on this pen after a few more days of use.

Depends on the pen - not all come with a converter. If it has the option to use one, it should come with one, IMO... I'd rather have the converter than a few cartridges.

Hey, we all make mistakes. I would be prone to error if I had a house full of company. And, as you said, it is only your second pen purchase. You will be a pro at this pen thing real soon.

I did in fact see a couple of web sites that had Falcons at very good prices, but it stated that the pens would come without converters. The vendors would send along extra cartridges. I thought you might have gotten one of those and perhaps had not noticed the fine print notice (about the converters).

Enjoy the pen. Let us know how you feel about the pen.
