I wish it was a more mint condition model (clip has some noticeable scratches), but it writes nicely and gives off a light show in the right lighting conditions (like in a restaurant with mini spotlights).

Ron Dutcher (Kamakura) believes these are pretty rare. I've only seen 1 (the one I got), and not one image anywhere on the Internet.

Measurements are 5 3/8" long capped, 5 13/16" posted, cap opening diameter 1/2". The nib has a date code of H1075 (October 1975).

Certainly a beautiful pen.

Can I have it....? biggrin.gif

Lovely pen, Myu! That's the "supra" nib, isn't it? Nicest nib in Pilot's stable, I think.

The Pilot made Cross Verve nib is obviously a close relative to these supra nibs. /:)

Your pen is from the early 1970s and is a harder to find model. I've seen it in both a gold and silver tone. The gold was in a photograph so, that might be due to the lighting. I know of one other pen of this model. It has a pattern of 'chiseled-out' diamonds.

They show up on Yahoo Japan (their equivalent of eBay) about once a year.

The nib is the same as that used on the Pilot Custom series from 1973-1981 and the model shown is slightly larger than the Custom.

Nice pen.

Thanks for the info, Stan! I expected it would date to either late 60's or sometime before mid 70's, but I wasn't sure.

Dan, I hadn't heard of the nib name but "Supra" certainly fits. smile.gif This nib style is seen on most of the Pilot Custom pens. I know they came in the standard <F>, <M>, <B> sizes (I have all 3), but I wonder if they ever had oblique nibs. The great thing is that Pilot was consistent with the nib section size and clutch ring diameter--I can easily interchange the nib with any Custom Pilot (so if the nib ever got seriously damaged, I could easily get a replacement by cannibalizing another Custom pen).

Also, the Supra nib came in either white or yellow gold. I have a white broad nib on a Pilot Elite that I've interchanged with this Bamboo model--matches the barrel nicely.

Thanks for the compliments everyone -- glad I could give you a glimpse back into Pilot history. biggrin.gif
