hello all! I have a eye out for nice vintage writing instruments with solid 14k trim. As you know, some brands/models demand quite a premium with this trim, while others are quite modest for some reason. I stumbled across this nice looking pencil, that still had the sticker on it that reads: "Use only Eversharp Standard Lead 165 $24.00"
The pencil itself has a solid 14k cap, and the body is black. To be honest, I bought it on a whim and don't know much about it. Is someone able to identify it by the pictures, specifically what model and year(s) it may be from? Also, was there a solid 14k capped FP that may have went with it as a set? thanks all, and Happy New Year!

It looks a lot like a '5th Avenue'. Good pictures and different angles will help. The 5th Avenue is the only Wahl/Eversharp I know with a clip 'cykinder end' - flat on the side and projecting out the face a bit.

good job finding that one
It must be a 64 pencil. It was $50 for pens, so the sets were $64. You'll easily find information on them online (which is all that I know) from Mr. Binder and probably also Mr. Mamoulides.
I have a 64 demi set in red, so if yours is longer than 4.5" it would be a standard sized one. Mine has a plastic tip though. Is the tip on yours gold? I hope somebody with more experience chimes in and tell us about that as a variation. I got mine out and I guess I prefer the look of plastic, though the metal is more fun to think about.

You know that you can flip the eraser around to the metal button side, right? I'm still looking for an easy eraser replacement because I also have a 5th Ave stowaway set.

the tip is indeed gold on this one, so maybe this was a variation of some sort. thanks for the info on this pencil!
