Hi

Here is a scan of what I wrote on small piece of paper the first 4sentences are written with a medium nib and the 4 other ones are written with a fine one. Tell me what you think.

Your writing looks very good, with either hand! I feel impressed to see how similar your left-hand and right-hand writings appear.

By the way, two USA presidents (Thomas Jefferson and James Garfield) also possessed an impressive ability to write well with either hand (and with each hand producing the same style as the other).
Jefferson acquired his ability at least partly out of necessity: he injured his right wrist in falling from a horse, and then (after he had begun learning to write well with his left hand) he similarly injured his left wrist.
Garfield cultivated his own ability out of personal/professional interest: before becoming President, he taught penmanship and other subjects in a country schoolhouse, and found that he could impress and silence the rowdy students by writing simultaneously with both hands. Often, in doing this trick, he chose to write different texts and even different languages with the left & the right hand: on several occasions, for instance, he wrote the opening verses of the ILIAD in Greek with his left hand while writing the opening verses of the AENEID in Latin with his right hand.
Do we here have any similarly "Garfieldian" writers — either simultaneously bi-manual in two languages, or "merely" (!) simultaneously bi-manual with differing texts in the same language? I hope against hope to encounter such a rarity, in person or otherwise, before I die.

Thanks for the very interesting information. I appreciate it a lot.

I like the way the left-hand writing looks, but I am impressed at how both hands are legible!

That is very impressive! biggrin.gif Both handed~
(which hand is 'preferred' though?)

That medium nib looks more like a BBB, and the fine nib a BB  laugh.gif

Hi Kissing

No preferred hand for writing. The medium nib belongs to a Montblanc 146 from the mid 60's and the fine nib to a 1997 stainless steel sheaffer. I have once used a OBB nib and I was truely disappointed. Medium and/or fine nibs are my choices.
