Yet another newbie question. I see a lot of recommendations for water proof ink from Noodler's inks and especially the waterproof varieties. Any problems using them in M800 or M215? The waterproof aspect of the ink is interesting to me.

I've used Noodler's Luxury Blue in my Pelikan M405, fine nib. Works great as far as flow, etc. Did exhibit the typical "nib creep" but not too bad. My problem was that I'm just not digging the LB for day-to-day writing. It looks great when wet, but dry it's a little... Lackluster.

hi,
rick propas, the PENquin, who specializes in pelikans, negates his warranty if noodlers ink were used in any pen bought from him. some repair people feel that noodlers should not be used in vintage pens.

I have several 200s from the 80's and a modern 400. They're all reliable writers with good flow. My 400 uses Noodler's bulletproof inks almost exclusively, and in part because it's one of my pens that will start up every single time with no hesitation even if it's been sitting capped for months. I haven't had any problems with Noodler's in Pelikans.
I don't know anything about PENquin's warranty, and I don't use vintage pens, so if you have vintage Pelikans, you should probably seek additional advice.
But just for the record, Pelikan does not prohibit using Noodler's ink in their warranty. They service pens regardless of ink used. Years ago I once ruined a Pelikan 200 filling mechanism by using calligraphy ink. Pelikan fixed the pen at no charge, no questions asked.

i've used Noodler's (waterproof and otherwise) in most of my modern Pels at one time or another. No problems at all.

I only have several 200's, but have had no problem with any Noodler's.

I have two 200's, two 600's and an 800, and I've used Noodler's in all of them over a period of two and a half years without any problem. It's especially easy to flush out Pels as the nibs screw out. The Noodler's waterproof inks wash out very easily in my experience. A minute or two, and you're done -- unless you let the ink dry out in the pen, in which case it takes longer. As with any ink.

My M200's love Noodler's inks! They flow well and start up without effort after being left in my desk for weeks.
