Thanks everyone. I'm am still admiring the beauty of it. I anticipated getting a medium nib, expecting it to be less scratchy. But I tried a fine nib, and it writes like butter. Couldn't be more pleased.

I'm a M person myself, but I do own a Pelikan F that was sent off to Chartpak for tuning, and when it got back. Wow, thats a smooth F. Steel nib (m200). My m800 has been in my rotation since I purchased it, which I believe was a month ago, along with my VP, which joined the rotation maybe 3 weeks ago. So now I've got two solid daily users, and the third slot in my pen case is the wildcard (lately its been a Hero 100 flighter).
But, back on topic, enjoy the m800! It does have a bit of heft to it. I typically do not write posted, except maybe with smaller pens. I typically remove the cap and leave it open end down standing up somewhere on my desk. The weight of the m800 really is too much with the cap posted for me.
