...Now what?
I'm very anxious to start using this thing now that I found it, but after a good soak for a while to remove all the excess ink in it (and heaven knows there was a LOT), while I was drying the section (with nib correctly seated), the two pieces seperated in my hands.
I put them back together, but when I tried to seat a converter on it, the nib pushed out again. This just won't do! Being that the nib and the section are in great shape, what's the best way to get them back together so I can use it?
Friction tape? Super glue? Send it back to rOtring and see what they can do?

After a little more careful scrutiny, I found that the section and the feed are threaded and in a normal case, they fit together just fine. However, the threads on my feed are quite stripped and it won't thread on to the aluminum section.
Time to break out the super glue and seal the two together?
My biggest fear/problem is that there aren't many replacement pieces available anymore. It's really a one-shot deal, from my perspective. If I screw it up, I'm left with the option to start hunting for an old-model section, which I'm guessing no one wants to part with.
Ideas?
Is this a new one, or an older model with the knurled grip?
I have a newer one and found that the nib section came loose from the metal holder. I'm not sure if that's what happened to you. But I used a touch of rubber cement style glue and it locked the nib in place just fine.

Eureka! It's back in business!
After stewing about this pen for a while, I finally decided that the pen was either going to be repaired, or I was going to give it my best shot, anyway.
I finally worked up the nerve to start messing with this pen last night. I mixed up a smidgin of JB Weld, and coated the inside of the aluminum sleeve. I slid the feed back in place, dabbed away as much of the residue from the feed opening as I could, and hoped for the best.
Well, after curing overnight, it seems as if the repair has taken. The feed doesn't move after applying modest pressure, and aside from the converter not fitting quite as perfectly as before, it seems to work just fine.
Cross your fingers for the future, but it sure is nice to have this one back in the saddle! I'll post a few pictures over in the Photography area, although we've all seen this pen before.
