My wife bought me a batch of Private Reserve inks for Christmas. Good move on her part -- she ended up buying colors I wouldn't have bought for myself. I get self-conscious when I venture too far away from the traditional blues and blacks.

Daphne Blue was a shock to me. It's grown on me as I've used it, but it may take a few years to work my way through the bottle...

Just curious - have you tried photocopying it?

You know, while I was writing the review that idea crossed my mind. I thought about those editing inks that are "invisible" to photocopy machines.

A. Daphne was a nymph in Greek mythology. Nymphs are associated with fresh-water springs, water flowing from such a spring might be seen as light blue.



B. Daphne Zuniga, Princess Vespa in "Spaceballs". (Hey, why not?)

Photocopying is semi-successful.

It comes through, but only as a mid-tone shade of gray. Our photocopy machine does pick up on the ink's shading characteristics, though.

Interesting... So it's not really close enough to a "non-repro blue" I guess. Makes sense that it would pick up the darker shaded areas though.

I found my non-repro blue pen over the weekend, but go figure - it's as dead as a doorknob. So no luck getting any color sample out of that thing.
