I have no M200 but only a M150. But I wonder to buy a grey one because with every color ink it is perfect. I don't like the clear one because i saw one dirty and it is not very good. for the amber one, simply I don't like 'resin' imitations...

Grey is perfect in this comparison but I prefer the blue one.

I have both the grey and amber. By far and away I perfer the amber. The color plays off the clip, nib and trim. Most any ink plays as "dark" in the barrel.
This is my go to, everyday pen, I do most of my calcs with it and grade most of my papers. Love it.

I'm not going to vote here, but I do want to point out that whichever color you prefer, you'd better set about purchasing it fairly soon. The clear (M250 with gold-plated furniture and M205 with rhodium-plated furniture) and the gray are both discontinued and in short or nonexistent supply, and the amber is scheduled for withdrawal as well.

I have the Clear with a single gold cap band, and it looks very cool with bright inks inside it. I clean it very carefully and it still looks perfect when empty.
I don't like the gray, and I don't think all inks looks perfect with it. I have a Pearl-Gray Omas with Gold trim, and while I though all inks would be fine, I don't like reds, pinks or browns coming from it at all.
While that particular shade of amber isn't my favourite, I do own similar colour pens which I keep exclusively for warm-toned inks. If you like autumnal ink colours very much (I do) then yellow/brown/orange pens are perfect. I voted amber.

Richard, in this case, she wants to do the opposite. She has all three allready and may want to reduce the number of her demonstartors.

I like the gray, but the clear comes in a very close second.
In fact, does anyone know of a reliable source for these discontinued demonstrator pens? My go-to site, Pendemonium, is all sold out.

I love my anthracite (gray) M200. It looks good with every ink I use. But since Pelikan is retiring so many colors, maybe they will come out with something new I'll like even better.

We haven't been able to get brown (amber) translucent M200's for a quite a while but still have some of the other colours. Different distribution policies in each region I assume. I'm not sorry to see the brown one go as personally it was my least favourite but it's a shame about the others (I own a grey myself).
We still have a couple of M205's left if anyone is desperate!

I have had both the amber and grey in B for nearly a year -- great pens.

All this discussion about demonstrators made we want to get one. Actually, I have wanted a Pelikan demonstrator for some time. Since they are discontinuing them, I figured I better get one now. Actually just ordered an amber 250.

I love these Pelikans; I have two of the reds and they have been written almost daily since they came out; I also have the matching BP. I have the blue and green and amber. I say, no matter which color you like, they are all terrific!

I voted for the amber model. I purchased an amber M250 at a Levenger Outlet sale in Delray Beach a few years ago. It was uninked and less expensive than a M200. There was some reluctance at the checkout to honor the listed price but a manager straightened everything out. I've since bought a ball point and roller ball in amber. My son was in Germany earlier this year and as much as I wanted a matching pencil I felt the price was excessive.

Call me crazy, but I am
not really a fan of demonstrators. I owned the m205 briefly, and did not like seeing all the little beads of condensation and ink sloshing around whenever I gazed at the pen (which I do from time to time, gaze at the pen in my hand. Don't know what else to call it, not looking, not examining, not scrutinizing, just gazing). I much prefer the opaque models - the green or black viewing window is quite enough demonstrator for me!
Then again, mine was a totally clear model, maybe I'd appreciate a translucent one more.

Me too. I love Pelikans and the 200/400 size is my favorite. I have both a 200 and a 250 in tortoise and a blue marbled 200. I've never been attracted to demonstrators.

I voted for the amber. I normally like blues, and if a pen I want is available in blue I tend to gravitate toward it. That was much the case with these demonstrators as well, and the shade of blue is just lovely. However, I also love autumnal colors, and the amber was calling my name the other day, so I ordered one from Mr. Binder's website with a 0.8mm stub. Of course, if I end up loving the pen + nib as much as everyone else seems to, I will almost certainly end up with a blue one as well, perhaps with a cursive italic. Then the question becomes 0.7mm or 1.1mm? I normally prefer medium to fine nibs, but the 0.7 would be so close to the 0.8...argh, maybe I'll just buy them all!
