I have never tried the MB Special Editions (which some of them are beautiful); all I knew was from how popular they were among the "professional class" and how fragile they were -but most of them were the BP.
I was given the retractable Boheme as a gift, this was my first MB. I still have some problems with the mechanism of the pen (this is certaintly NOT a workhorse pen) but, alas, the nib is so delightful to write with!
I got the larger-sized through eBay at a much discounted price and even if fine nibs are not my favorite, this is a fine nib.
Some may be very fragile but the nib is not and gives a very nice wet line (they do not skip at all!)
